The Effects of Topical Vitamin C on Burn Wound Healing

Background and Aim: Topical supplements vitamins have often been used to accelerate the healing of burn wounds. This study investigated effects topical application vitamin C solution on Methods & Materials: research was performed 30 patients with extensive second-degree burns one or two organs similar burns. The subjects were randomly divided into intervention control groups. group received in addition silver sulfadiazine ointment area; however, only applied area group. wounds examined scored days 1, 3, 7, 14 using Bates-Jensen Wound Assessment Tool. collected data analyzed SPSS repeated-measures Analysis Variance (ANOVA). Ethical Considerations: approved by ethics committee sabzevar university medical sciences. (Code: IR.MEDSAB.REC.1394.60). Results Eighteen male 12 female. Their Mean±SD age body mass index 43.03±11.90 years 27.82±4.08 kg/m2, respectively. Conclusion: ANOVA indicated that groups significantly different concerning final mean scores given (P=0.047). In other words, differed wound healing; thus, improved participants.
